Hekima – Implementation of the social impact measurement process based on the Poverty Probability Index (PPI)

Mission objective:

As part of its development, Hekima is implementing processes to improve its activities. The institution is continually seeking new and better ways to contribute to poverty reduction. It is in this context that Hekima wishes to develop and implement a process for measuring its social impact on poverty.

The PPI (Poverty Probability Index) methodology was chosen by Hekima to measure its social impact.

The PPI is a poverty measurement tool designed for organizations whose mission is to serve vulnerable people. The PPI is a statistically reliable and easy-to-use tool: responses to 10 questions about household characteristics and asset ownership are scored to calculate the probability that the household is living below the poverty line. By using such a statistical tool over time, Hekima will be able to assess the poverty level of its clients and its evolution over time. This will allow Hekima to integrate objective data on poverty into its assessments, strategic decision-making, and communication with various stakeholders.
