Mission objective:
The Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation has supported KOMIDA since 2010. Established in 2004 and registered as a cooperative, KOMIDA is a Tier 1 microfinance institution (portfolio over $100 million) that provides financial assistance in the form of loans and savings, as well as non-financial services (such as training) to its members. As of December 2022, the cooperative had 4,800 employees and a network of 305 branches in the provinces of Java, North Sumatera, Sulawesi, and Nusa Tenggara. It manages a portfolio of €130 million and serves 798,536 active borrowers, exclusively women, mostly living in rural areas (96%).
Since establishing a risk management department in September 2019, KOMIDA has strengthened its risk management framework with the formalization of a dedicated policy, including a risk mapping analysis. However, given its large and growing size, the cooperative wishes to benefit from external expertise in the field of risk management to improve risk identification and analysis, with complementary methodologies and tools.
