Context :
Mali's economy remains dominated by the primary sector, particularly agriculture. Agriculture faces recurring challenges: repeated droughts since the 1970s, falling prices for raw materials such as cotton, and rising production costs (inputs and fuel).
The company:
A microfinance institution with a strong social orientation, RMCR was created in 2000 by World Vision (NGO). The network offers financial services (credit, savings, agricultural micro-insurance) to the most deprived inhabitants – primarily women, living in rural and agricultural areas of Mali.
Impact :
In line with the social objectives of the NGO World Vision, RMCR's mission is to increase the income of Malian families in order to offer more promising futures to their children. Through a dense network of branches in rural areas, RMCR serves a poor and agricultural population. It targets women and young people, populations deemed too risky by other MFIs in the country.
