The World Bank's 2014 Findex report1 reveals that 2 billion adults worldwide remain without any access to formal financial services, whether credit, savings, insurance or payments. Although this figure is a sharp decrease from a similar survey conducted in 2011, it shows the extent of financial exclusion, which primarily affects developing countries.
